UCM Community

Community makes us stronger

Our community of practice and other campus like-minded meetings are informal, highly engaged groups whose members share best practices and creatively address challenges within their areas of expertise. Currently, UCM hosts an internal marketing and communications meeting and two communities of practice groups for social media and SEO and analytics.

MarCom Connection

The MarCom Connection (MCC) is an informal group designed to create a supportive professional community and to update colleagues about activities and events on campus. Hosted by UCM’s senior communications strategists, each meeting features a marketing or communications best practice. A UCM expert will be invited to present to the group and showcase the tools and resources available to them.

It is ever-evolving and is a vital part of our Cal Poly marketing and brand strategy. This community of practice discusses policies, content strategy, crisis management, social media management tools, collaborative efforts and other best practices.

SEO and Analytics

SEO is critical to success in today’s digital environment. This community of practice was created to discuss information architecture/site structure, evergreen content, broken links, keyword research and other best practices. Analytics help explain what visitors to your site are doing and what content is most visible.
