The Aspen Index Impact Fellowship brings together senior fellows and current leadership educators and undergraduate students from around the country to advance the future of youth leadership development. In his role, Humphrey will help advance an agenda focused on research, interventions and strategies to enhance the quality and access to youth leadership programs nationally, with a goal of exposing more than 50% of youth to high-quality leadership programs within the next five years.

Currently, less than one-third of the American population under 25 is exposed to any form of leadership development, according to the Aspen Institute.

“I am honored to be named a senior impact fellow and look forward to working with my colleagues to advance this important work to expose America’s youth to more leadership opportunities,” Humphrey said. “This work falls in line with the intentional programs and services we have developed in Student Affairs to develop our students’ leadership skills and provide them with the tools for lifelong success.”

As part of their work, impact fellows will utilize The Aspen Institute Leadership Development Index, a digital assessment tool to measure leadership capacities and develop strategic roadmaps for an individual’s personal and professional growth.
