Gallery opening reception and awards set for April 13
SAN LUIS OBISPO — Cal Poly’s University Art Gallery’s 2023 Juried Student Show, featuring exceptional student work from art and design classes, will run April 13, through May 12.
Juried by artist Chen Tianquitao, a visiting photography educator at Iowa State University, Montserrat College of Art and Rhode Island School of Design, the pieces were carefully culled from a much larger pool of submissions.
"I am truly impressed by the diverse work students submitted to the juried exhibition,” Tianquitao said of students’ talents across many art mediums. “The works created in art and design classes clearly show their creativity and passion. I am thrilled to be involved in the jurying process."
The opening reception will start at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 13, in the gallery on the ground floor of the Dexter Building (No. 34). The exhibition is free and open to the public from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The show concludes May 12.
