Email Signature Guidelines

The email signature template is intended to be flexible to the information you want to present to your contacts while consistently expressing the university’s visual brand.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Navigate in your email client to the email signature editing window.
  2. Change your personal details.
    1. First and last name
      1. Georgia Bold 14 pt.
      2. Dark yellow (see below)
    2. Pronouns (optional)
      1. Font Trebuchet Bold 10 pt.
      2. Dark green (see below)
    3. Professional or academic title
      1. Font Trebuchet 10 pt.
      2. Dark green
    4. College/Division or Department
      1. Font Trebuchet 10 pt.
      2. Dark green
    5. Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, CA
      1. Font Trebuchet 10 pt.
      2. Dark green
    6. Horizontal rule/line
      1. Hold down shift and press the dash (-) key five times
      2. In the formatting bar click “…” and select superscript (X2)
      3. Change the color to dark yellow (see below)
    7. Office phone number: 805-756-XXXX
      1. Font Trebuchet 10 pt.
      2. Dark green
    8. Cell number (optional)
      1. Font Trebuchet 10 pt.
      2. Dark green
    9. Department website
      1. Font Trebuchet 10 pt.

      1. Download the logo and insert.
      2. Note: Do not use a division, college or department lockup as it will not be legible.
      3. Note: Some email providers do not support embedded images and may display incorrectly or appear broken.
  3. Save and exit.

Font Colors

Different email applications have their own color capabilities. We suggest the following:
