Short-term physical therapy appointments for students now available with referral
SAN LUIS OBISPO — In its continued efforts to expand access for students, Campus Health and Wellbeing (CH&W) recently launched its on-campus physical therapy program.
Offered in partnership with Movement For Life, the program offers short-term physical therapy (one to three appointments) at $10 per visit to students who have a referral from a CH&W provider. Students receiving short-term physical therapy services will also receive access to the Everflex platform, which provides guided movements aligned with their personal physical therapy needs.
“This is a great low-cost and convenient option for physical therapy, especially for students who do not have the means to afford physical therapy services or have access to a vehicle to travel to and from appointments off campus,” said CH&W Medical Director Dr. Ricardo Young.
Physical therapy sessions will be held in the Cal Poly Recreation Center (No. 43), Room 107, and are available to all currently enrolled Cal Poly students with non-post-operative physical therapy needs. The service is not intended for NCAA sports-related injuries/treatments.
Sessions will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 4 p.m. by Movement for Life Clinical Director and Cal Poly alumnus Brandon Weipert.
“We are proud to continue supporting the health and well-being of Cal Poly students by providing a convenient clinic right on campus,” said Weipert.
To obtain a referral for on-campus physical therapy services through Movement for Life, students must first schedule an appointment with a Health Services provider via the Health and Counseling portal. Referrals from external providers will not be accepted.
